A month and a week into 2017 and the year has started off with a bang (just like the end of the world… or is that with a whimper?) of a reading, a review, and a publication. Back in January, the kind and hardworking folk at words(on)pages invited me to read at their reading series alongside David B. Goldstein and Jacqueline Valencia.
The reading was a blast, especially the open-mic set allowing for a rare opportunity to hear new writing from Toronto friends. Hearing Jacqueline was also a treat, especially after hearing so much about her readings and the dynamism of her writing and performance.
A few short weeks after that, poet-workhorse rob mclennan was kind enough to give my chapbook its first review. Although brief, the best part of this post is that rob also reviews Sarah MacDonell’s new chapbook the lithium body (In/Words, 2017), which is a treat of a long poem that I also recommend.
On the same day as rob’s review posting, the online magazine Bad Nudes released their new issue, which features two of my poems as well as pages and pages of great content! I’m very glad to be in here alongside friends and other great writers. Thanks to the editors for selecting and designing a fun and captivating issue.
